Enfys J. Book
Enfys J. Book (they/them) is a high priestx (3rd degree) of the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel tradition in the mid-Atlantic. They are the author of the Gold COVR award-winning Queer Qabala: Nonbinary, Genderfluid, Omnisexual Mysticism & Magick (Llewellyn, June 2022) and co-author (with Ivo Dominguez, Jr.) of the forthcoming Sagittarius Witch (Llewellyn, 2024).
They have taught many classes on Tarot, Hermetic Qabala, and queering one’s magical practice, including “The Genderqueer Tree of Life,” “Qabala’s Queer Connections,” and “Queering Your Magickal Practice,” at conferences and events around the United States and online.
As a nonbinary, bisexual pagan, Enfys employs a queer lens to break down limiting binaries in magickal theory and practice, and advocate for bi-, trans-, non-binary/genderqueer-, queer-, and asexual-visibility and inclusion.
They are also the creator of majorarqueerna.com, a website devoted to queer magickal practice with a focus on Qabala, and host a podcast called “4 Quick Q’s: Book Talk with Enfys,” where they interview pagan authors using questions determined by a roll of the dice.
Creating and ritualizing sigils as temporary body art
Sigils have the power to focus our magickal intent to create change commensurate with our Will. Combined with ritual, they are potent tools in our magickal toolboxes. In this workshop, we will learn a few different methods of creating sigils for magickal purposes. We will then develop techniques for empowering temporary body art sigils to target specific types of magickal work through ritual. The last half of the workshop will feature a group ritual with a guided pathworking for individuals to find the components needed for an empowering sigil, and then draw and energize those sigils on ourselves with temporary tattoo pens while in sacred space. Please bring paper and a writing utensil for testing out different sigil designs.
