Dorrie Joy is a prolific, intuitive artist working in many mediums, from visual arts, to teaching traditional crafts, to spoken word performances. Her formal studies are in literature and ceramics. As a painter, she is largely self taught. For over 20 years she has trained intimately with Indigenous women and Elders in many areas of ancient craft and ceremony. All of her work is centred around celebrating our indigenous nature, the roots of our belonging, bringing nourishment to our current human experience. Her paintings are held in many private collections and public displays. Her shamanic craft is carried globally.
She has travelled widely and lived in green hills all her adult life. She has settled in Somerset, UK. A Mother of three and a Grandmother of two, her creative life is infused with all the blessings of a vibrant family and thriving community.
