JANE MEREDITH: THE GODDESS AND HER SYMBOLS

The symbols of the Goddess: Demeter’s wheat, Freyja’s gold necklace, Isis’ throne, Ariadne’s labyrinth. What if we have misunderstood the significance of these symbols, viewing them as merely an icon or emblem of the Goddess? Perhaps, instead, they are the Goddess?

BROOKE MEDICINE EAGLE: WHITE BUFFALO WOMAN’S VITAL MESSAGE

Brooke will share, from the ways given by White Buffalo Woman, the honouring of a girl entering her first moontime – a beautiful rite through which you will journey to heal and reclaim your own menarche, as well as learn to honour and awaken those mysteries for the budding women in your life. How to use your moontime for yourself, as well as service to the world, will be offered.

2.30pm-4.30pm:A rich picking of 2-hour long workshops:

ANNINE van der MEER: New Light on the Black Madonna

Why is it that in France one finds a disproportionally larger number of statues of the Black Madonna than in other countries? Why is she found here preferably in power places in a landscape with an increased energy level? Why is it that in France the character of the Black Madonna is closely related to Mary Magdalene?

We will research from different perspectives the colour black in connection with the Dark Mother: cosmology, alchemy, depth psychology, neuropsychology, sacred geography and art history. She is the dark cosmic womb of the first light. In her dark and light work together. We will honour and experience the 13 sacred body postures of the Divine Female.

BELINDA BLUEBELL: Journey to the Hive of the Bee Goddess

I will take you on a journey to enter into the temple space, the realm of the bee goddess, to make a prayer or invocation. Then you will roll  your prayers into a wax candle for you to light when you wish to send them into the universe. The workshop will involve some movement to start with, so so wear loose fitting comfortable clothing.

Please bring a yoga mat, a blanket and a cushion, as you will be lying down for about half an hour.

BROOK MEDICINE EAGLE: THE PRACTICE & POWER OF WHITE BUFFALO WOMAN’S GIFTS

Brooke will introduce  the rich and useful teachings brought by White Buffalo Calf Woman – sharing her principles so that they can become useful and meaningful to you.

Goddess practitioners understand well the power of the primary feminine – the ability to move beyond the physical, to dissolve, to flow, to expand, to come into good relationship with…. an ability which opens untold realms of possibility for healing, for working in the greater unity, for using the power of the Void in service of all life here on Earth and to manifest your dreams.  You will:

  1. deepen your understanding of wholeness/holiness as an ancient feminine and very modern concept
  2. experience the power of White Buffalo Woman’s ‘womb bowl of life’, and
  3. learn about the Sacred Pipe – its power and challenge for non-native peoples.

We will dance in circle, chant, and do shamanic journey as we put her teachings into practice. In this crucial time, these understandings from an American goddess can make an important difference for you and for your work.

GAURI RAJE: FINDING FRAGMENTS, ROOTING SELVES
JANE MEREDITH: PARADISE, REVISITED

Eve ate the apple. Eve is the mother of us all. Eve was tempted by the serpent…

Let’s re-enter the Garden of Paradise and examine this myth. What do these symbols of an angel with a flaming sword, the Tree of Knowledge, the serpent and the apple mean to each of us? What would we do, in Eve’s place? Would you taste the apple?

We will trance together to journey back to the Garden of Paradise, enter the gates and encounter the serpent. We will discuss the meaning and symbolism of this potent story, culturally and for ourselves and in ritual we will step forward as Eve and meet the serpent… Will you dare? This is a fully participative workshop, held in sacred space with strong ritual elements.
No latecomers. Age 16+, thank you.

JULIE FELIX: YOU ARE A SONG
MAKGATHI MOKWENA: Celebrating the Great Mother

This is a workshop dedicated to celebrating Her, our Great Mother Goddess, to connecting with Her within ourselves, and to giving her full embodied expression through our bodies..

We will dance, move, sound and sing, and ullulate Her through an African dance form. Ah, and all other dance forms are invited, of course!

In this workshop you will unfurl slowly into African dance and sound, take a movement  journey to the inner spaces occupied by the Goddess, and experience your body as it expresses and celebrates Her, and you, through the various dance forms of Africa.  We will experiment with dance and movement, with no need to get it “right”, only to feel it in your being. No previous dance experience? Excellent! You won’t need it. Just bring your feet and an open heart.

ROZ BOUND: Writing the One and Many, She is everywhere

Heeding the call to Avalon, we of the world remember and honour Goddess through unique experiences. As we hold sacred space today, She will work through us with Her divine creative love, as we write, read and listen to our words and stories in community. Through sacred practice, imaginative exercises, meditation and sharing, our words will call Her in as we write about Her many manifestations in our lives. New and well-seasoned writers of all ages are welcome. Please bring your favourite writing materials.

SALLY BRYANT: Dancing Goddesses of the World

I invite you to share with me an exciting and inspirational journey of dance, music, creative visualisation and meditation, to meet and honour the beautiful goddesses of many countries.

We shall begin with dance, grounding ourselves fully connected with earth elements, embodying African drumming, primal rhythm and energies leading towards experiencing our strength and empowerment with tribal goddess.

Egyptian belly dance and hip movements guides us into our sensuality & sexuality, revealing our womb mysteries and creativity, freeing our bodies into joy and fun and pleasure.

Pele and the Hawaiian Goddess energy takes us deeper into her calling, where the warrior Goddess energies from the fires of the volcanic Islands, transform us.

And completing together we gently move into our softer places and curves inviting Quan Yin to lift us into the heart of the matter, towards Divine Mother Mystical Indian experiences.
