Glastonbury Goddess Conference

On the Fringe

Saturday 29th – Monday 31st July

A Fabulous Feast of Fringe workshops and pilgrimages to expand and enrich your experience of the Goddess Conference, or to enjoy as inspiring events in their own right.

Saturday 29th July

Dawn Oakley-Smith and Anna-Saqqara Price introduce you to ‘The Way of the Horse’, a therapeutic system of Soul and Personal growth that works by combining the Celtic wheel of the year with Elemental Horse Archetypes and Horse Goddesses which they explore by using Soul connection, Shamanicm Relational/Natural horse work and Equine Assisted Learning. On this ‘Way of the Horse’ intro day you’ll work with horses and each other to explore boundaries, yours and theirs, and experience how to meet and safely connect with these magnificent beings. You will journey with drums to meet the elemental spirit of Horse and the Horse Goddesses seeing which horse Goddess Calls to you – Wild Child Epona bare back riding, Lover Rhiannon and her white mare, Mother Demeter as the Horse-headed Goddess or The Crone Queen Maccha on her NightMare?

Horses are incredible guides, both in the spirit world and in the physical – in their core essence they are healers and teachers.

CAROLYN HILLYER: THE WORLD CAULDRON: Clans and Keepers of the Thrumming Bowl (WOMEN ONLY)

We circle around this great thrumming bowl, the sacred vessel that contains our most ancient understandings of the world; this belly of eternal rhythms that rock and churn and pound into the hollows of our bones. The songs of this great cauldron fill our bodies with primordial resonances; our skin vibrates with echoes from the voices of grandmothers singing softly or robustly far out around the rim. We keep returning to this bowl; we cannot help ourselves for we yearn to merge with far more primal versions of ourselves. We watch those old ones as they stir the magic all around, mix and blend until it spills the brim. And so we crouch with them beside the thrumming bowl, binding our world together, each sister strong beside her sisters, clans and keepers of the changing earth… With her most recent work, Weavers’ Oracle, at the core of this workshop, Carolyn will guide a journey of mystic tale, intuitive ritual and profound song around the rim of the world cauldron…

Venue: The Assembly Rooms
Time: 10.00am-4.00pm

THE MOTHERS OF THE NEW TIME: Dancing at the Edge of the World

The Mothers of the New TimeThe Ohlone people indigenous to Northern California left a song fragment that has withstood the test of time. On the cliffs and beaches overlooking the Pacific Ocean, they would gather and sing: “Dancing at the edge of the world, we are dancing at the edge of the world.” The Mothers of the New Time, in honor and reverence for the sacred ways of the Ohlone people, adopted this line as part of our Full Moon prayer that we have been reciting for the last five years.  What does is mean to dance at the edge of the world? It means being prepared to leap from the cliff of presumption and let yourself fly into the unknown, to embrace a path of greatness that carries you to the farther shores of experience, and to balance wisdom and curiosity about what lies down the path of mystery in your life.

During our workshop we will offer participants opportunities to experience healing shamanic journey, sacred Goddess dance, and visionary nourishment for a life of adventure along the footpath of Goddess. We will give practical advice for remaining strong and grounded in difficult times, based on body and soul-sustaining techniques. Participants will also receive individual guidance in the workshop setting for finding, changing, or repairing the unique life force that is shared in the heart, soul, and second heart of every woman. Join us for a deep sacred circle of embodied wisdom.

ANIQUE RADIANT HEART & BILWARA LEE: Australian Aboriginal Dreaming and the Goddess.

In Australia, there are no Goddesses per se in the Australian First Nations Peoples Dreaming.

AniqueThe Dreaming is the Spirituality of the People, and is at the heart of Aboriginal life and the cultural protocols of living harmoniously with Mother Earth, Mother Nature and her local and cosmic communities. However, there are many feminine Creator Beings, and not all of them are “human”. Join Anique and Aunty Bilawara, as they unfold a rich tapestry of Australia Aboriginal stories and traditions from the Dreaming and their response to what might be sacred practice which incorporates this ancient lore from the oldest continuous surviving culture on Earth.

Venue: Goddess House
Time: 10.00am-4.00pm
Fee: £50

JANE MEREDITH: Aspecting the Goddess

JaneWhat happens when we step into the world of the Goddess directly, as her priestess, companion and vessel? How does it feel to walk beside her, to bring her presence through our bodies and words in invocation, to share her vision and voice?

This workshop will be a day of exploration and ritual as we move step-by-step into the timeless art of drawing down or Aspecting the Goddess. Aspecting involves embodying the Goddess in ritual, while still retaining awareness of our human selves. Within sacred space we will learn thorough grounding techniques, undertake a trance journey to meet our chosen Goddess and examine how and where her story meets with ours. We will learn skills of effective invocation, take a walk with the Goddess and cover the theory and techniques behind aspecting and tending those in aspect. Finally we will create a ritual together to experience aspecting for ourselves.

Reach out through the layers of the mythos to connect with the Goddess… Call her to you… Journey with her… Draw her down into your body and speak with her voice… Any level of experience welcome. This is a fully participative workshop, with the emphasis on learning and practicing the skills involved in embodying the Goddess in ritual.

Venue: Goddess Hall
Time: 10.00am-4.00pm
Fee: £50
