Gauri Raje is an anthropologist and storyteller who works in the UK and India with adults and vulnerable groups. She facilitates workshops and tells biographical stories, folk tales, ancestral stories and myths. She is especially interested in the concepts of witnessing in storytelling, translation and multilingualism and embodied nature of creating stories.
Gauri’s most recent projects include directing and performing in ‘East of the Sun, West of the Moon’ a collection of stories for adults from around the world translated and told in three different Indian languages, including English, and ‘Badlands’, a storytelling of folk stories from the regions of the central Indian mountains. Currently, she is working on a performance that combines stories of her ancestors, traditional/ folk tales and tales of the land from Western India.
